A standard of care that transforms lives
We are a Bridgeport, Connecticut organization built on a simple belief: everyone deserves a safe space they can call home, and a real chance to rebuild.
Born from a belief in dignity
Dignified Homes was founded to fill a gap too many women fall through, the space between crisis and stability. Women who have served their country, women facing housing insecurity, and mothers-to-be often need more than a bed. They need a calm, respectful place to land and steady support while they find their footing.
So we built a home, not an institution. A place with house rules that create safety, a community that shows up each week, and staff who treat every resident with respect. We are non-medical by design; our role is to provide housing, meals, and support, and to connect residents to the VA, mental health, and recovery services they need through trusted partners.
Our focus: to pioneer a standard of care that transforms lives, and eradicates despair.

What guides everything we do
Dignity first
Everyone has a safe space they can call home. We honor the inherent worth of every person we serve.
Free of judgment
We build partnerships, not conditions, creating a space where people are met with respect.
Toward independence
We break barriers and restore futures, cultivating self-sufficiency and lasting stability.

Safe, clean, and genuinely yours
Structure creates safety, and safety creates room to grow. Here is a little of what living at Dignified Homes looks like.
- Your own room with a bed, linens, dresser, and storage
- Quiet hours 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM for rest and recovery
- Shared spaces kept clean together, on a fair rotation
- A substance-free, alcohol-free home
- Weekly support meetings as part of the community
- Respect from staff and residents, always
